Who We Are
We are a foster-based animal welfare organization operating throughout the Greater Toronto/ Hamilton Area.
The rescue was founded initially with a dream to support and rescue at-risk senior and special needs animals while continuing to educate the public about animal welfare. Over the past 8 years, we’ve done that and more but not without the support from many others.
We are supported by a dedicated volunteer team.
We are entirely volunteer based. Each member of our organization works full time in addition to the work we do for the animals. We really, really love animals.
We are not a volume rescue organization.
We have not and never will be a rescue that has more animals in care than we can properly attend to. We pride ourselves on the level of support, care and attention that not only each animal in care receives, but their foster and adopter families receive as well. We stay connected throughout each and every animals journey with us from intake through adoption and beyond. With burnout affecting millions of animal care workers annually, we remain conscious of our volunteer team members energy and bandwidth to support. We believe in gold standard care for each animal in our care and for each volunteer member involved in that process.
And lastly, we believe the only lasting change we will make in the lives on animals starts within the community.
Our community programs are at the forefront of our operations.
By supporting communities and providing access to resources, we hope to empower pet owners and bring positive change.
